The static caravan siting process
Chocking The Wheels
Chocking the wheels of your caravan ensures it is safe and doesn't move while our specialists are working on it.
We can help you find the exact specifications of your caravan to ensure you have the right sized wheel chocks.
Jacking The Static Caravan
Once the caravan is secure, our team will begin jacking it into place.
Again, the jacks will be placed under one of the marked support positions and elevate the caravan until the wheels are just above the ground.
Releasing The Jacks
We will ensure the caravan is completely level when sitting on the concrete base or blocks, adding additional wooden supports.
We will release the jacks when the concrete blocks are in place, leaving the caravan sitting securely in place.
Adjusting For Accuracy
We will continue to check that the caravan is level, making small adjustments and adding supports until you are happy.
This guarantees the safety of your caravan and allows it to function as it should whilst you camp.
Repeating On The Other Side
Once this is done on the side where the caravan entrance is, we will repeat the process on the other lengthwise side.
This allows us to ensure the caravan is also level width-wise.
Block Checking
When the caravan is level in all directions, we will check the stability of the supporting blocks to ensure they are safe.
Again, this ensures everything is secure and functional as we take great pride in doing the job right!
Adding The Axle Stands
With the caravan up and level in the air, we will place axle stands at either end underneath the marked support points, adjusting them until tight against the chassis.
And that's the gist of it!
How is a static caravan sited?
For many static caravan owners, the siting of their vehicles will be overseen by their park operator or caravan supplier. When you call on us to carry out mobile home siting services, we can liaise with these parties to ensure all specific concerns or needs are met.
Once we have transported your static caravan to your chosen site and placed it into position, it will need jacking and levelling.
To ensure we provide a great service, we will learn everything there is to know about your static caravan to provide a comprehensive service that meets all your requirements.
This is relatively easy with modern static caravans, given that jacks, blocks or stands can be placed underneath the chassis at marked points where the vertical chassis members are.
The tricky part is ensuring all these supports are placed on level areas. If your caravan or holiday home is overly large or wide, you may require additional supports, such as axle stands in the middle sections between the typical supports.
